Signable Integration

The Signable integration lets you send documents for electronic signature directly from EventWorks. Signers receive an email with a link to sign the document online, and EventWorks automatically tracks the signing status and provides a download link to the completed document.

Getting There

Go to Settings > Integrations and find the Signable card. Click Connect to enter your API key.

To send a document for signing, navigate to an event's Documents tab.

Overview

Once connected, the Signable integration adds signature request capabilities to your event documents:

  • Send for signature — Send any uploaded document to one or more signers with a custom message
  • Track status — See whether documents are awaiting signatures, complete, or cancelled
  • Download signed copies — Download the fully executed document once all parties have signed
  • Notify recipients — Send copies of the signing request to additional people

Key Concepts

API Key Authentication

Signable connects using an API key from your Signable account. Enter it when enabling the integration.

Document Statuses

Documents move through these statuses during the signing process:

Status Meaning
(no status) Document has not been sent for signature
Out for signature Document has been sent and is awaiting signatures
Complete All parties have signed the document
Cancelled The signing request was cancelled in Signable

Signers and Copies

When sending a document for signature, you can specify:

  • Signers (up to 4) — People who need to sign the document
  • Copies (up to 4) — People who receive a copy of the request for information only (they don't need to sign)

How To...

Connect to Signable

    • Go to Settings > Integrations.
    • Click the Signable card, then click Connect to Signable.
    • Enter your Signable API key.
    • Click Connect to Signable.

Send a Document for Signature

    • Navigate to the event that contains the document you want signed.
    • Go to the Documents tab.
    • Find the document in the list and click Request Signatures.
    • In the modal that appears:
- Signer 1 is pre-filled with the event's primary contact name and email. Update if needed. - Add up to 3 more signers in the Signer 2–4 rows. - Copy 1 is pre-filled with your own name and email (for notification purposes). Update or add more copy recipients. - Enter an optional Message to include in the signing email.

The document is sent to Signable and emailed to all signers. Its status changes to Out for signature.

Request signatures modal
Note: The Request Signatures button only appears for uploaded documents (not template-builder documents) that haven't already been sent for signing.

Check Signing Status

On the event's Documents tab, the Status column shows the current status of each document:

  • No status — Not yet sent for signature
  • Out for signature — Waiting for signers to complete
  • Complete — All parties have signed
  • Cancelled — The request was cancelled

Download a Signed Document

Once a document's status shows Complete, a Download Completed button appears in the documents list. Click it to download the fully signed document.

Settings & Configuration

The only setting for Signable is the API key, entered when connecting the integration at Settings > Integrations. You need the edit settings permission.

Note: EventWorks automatically creates a webhook subscription in Signable to receive status updates. This happens automatically when you send your first document for signing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I send template-builder documents for signature?

No. Only uploaded documents (PDFs, Word files, etc.) can be sent for electronic signature. Template-builder documents need to be generated and downloaded first.

Q: Can I cancel a signing request?

Signing requests can be cancelled from within Signable directly. When cancelled, the status in EventWorks updates to Cancelled automatically via webhook.

Q: What file types can be sent for signing?

Any document format that Signable supports can be sent. This typically includes PDF, Word documents, and other common document formats. The file is uploaded to Signable as-is.

Q: How many people can sign a single document?

You can specify up to 4 signers per document. Additionally, you can add up to 4 copy recipients who receive the document for information without needing to sign.

Q: Will I be notified when all parties have signed?

Yes. If you add yourself (or anyone else) as a copy recipient, you'll receive notifications from Signable about the signing progress. The status also updates automatically in EventWorks.
