Linking Related Events

You can link related events together in EventWorks to show that they're connected. This is useful when a client books multiple events, when a large event is split into separate bookings, or when you want to cross-reference events for any reason.

Getting There

Related events are managed from the event dashboard. The Related Events section appears in the left column of the dashboard.

How Connections Work

Event connections are simple, bidirectional links:

  • When you link Event A to Event B, both events show each other in their Related Events section.
  • There are no connection types (like parent/child) — all connections are equal.
  • You can link as many events together as you need.

Linking Events

    • Open the event you want to link.
    • In the Related Events section on the dashboard, click Add.
    • In the modal that appears, search for and select the event you want to link to.
    • Click Link event.

The linked event now appears in the Related Events table on both events.

Viewing Related Events

The Related Events table shows each linked event's name as a clickable link. Click a name to jump directly to that event's dashboard — making it quick to navigate between connected events.

Removing a Link

    • In the Related Events section, find the event you want to unlink.
    • Click the Delete button on that row.
    • The link is removed from both events.
Note: Removing a link only removes the connection between the events — it doesn't delete either event.

Automatic Linking

When you duplicate an event, the original and the duplicate are automatically linked as related events. This makes it easy to trace the history between the original and its copy.

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: Use related events to connect a client's annual recurring events. When reviewing this year's event, you can quickly jump to last year's for reference.
Tip: If a large project involves multiple separate bookings (e.g., different days handled as separate events), link them all together so anyone on the team can easily navigate between them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a limit to how many events I can link?

No. You can link as many events as needed.

Q: Can I link events from different client accounts?

Q: What happens to the link if one of the events is deleted?

The link is automatically removed when an event is deleted.
