General Settings

General Settings let you configure your company details, branding, and a handful of application-wide preferences that affect how EventWorks looks and behaves for everyone on your team.

Getting There

Click Settings in the main sidebar, then select the General tab. General Settings is the first item in the left-hand menu.

Overview

The General Settings page displays your current company information and preferences. Click Edit in the top-right corner to make changes.

How To...

Update Your Company Details

    • On the General Settings page, click Edit.
    • Fill in or update the following fields:
- Company Name — the name displayed throughout EventWorks and on documents. - Company Address — your business address, used on invoices, quotes, and other documents. - Company Number — your company registration number (if applicable).
    • Click Save to apply your changes.

Change Your Company Logo

    • Click Edit on the General Settings page.
    • Next to the Logo field, click the image picker to open the media library.
    • Select an existing image or upload a new one.
    • To set an Inverse Logo (used on dark backgrounds), repeat the process for the Inverse Logo field.
    • Click Save.
Tip: Upload your logo at a high resolution for the best appearance on documents and exports. The inverse logo is useful when your standard logo doesn't display well on darker UI elements.

Configure Display Preferences

These options control how EventWorks behaves across your account:

Setting What It Does
Display Logo on Job Sheet Shows your company logo at the top of job sheets when enabled.
Hide Dashboard Graph Hides the financial summary graph on the main dashboard.
Pagination Limit Sets how many records appear per page on list views (10, 15, 25, 50, 100, or 200).
Disable Resources Hides the resources feature entirely if your team doesn't use resource tracking.
Open PDFs in New Tab When enabled, clicking a PDF link opens it in a new browser tab instead of downloading it.
Async Exports Processes large exports in the background so you can keep working while they generate.
Display Overdue Task Highlight Row Highlights overdue tasks with a coloured row so they stand out in task lists.
    • Click Edit on the General Settings page.
    • Toggle any of the settings above to Yes or No as needed.
    • Click Save.
Note: Changing the Pagination Limit affects all list views across EventWorks for every user on your account.

Settings & Configuration

General Settings is the top-level configuration page. For other aspects of your setup, see:

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: If your team works with large datasets, increasing the Pagination Limit to 50 or 100 reduces the number of pages you need to click through on list views.
Tip: Enable Async Exports if you frequently export large reports or data sets — this lets you continue working while the export generates in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who can change these settings?

Only users with the edit-settings permission can access and modify General Settings. If you don't see the Settings option in your sidebar, ask your administrator to grant you access.

Q: Will changing the company name update it on existing documents?

Yes — the company name is pulled dynamically, so updating it here will reflect on any documents generated after the change. Previously generated PDF files are not affected.

Q: What does "Disable Resources" actually hide?

When enabled, the resource tracking feature is hidden across EventWorks — resource columns, resource allocation on costs, and resource-related settings will no longer appear. You can re-enable it at any time.
