Tips & Best Practices
Tip: Use the Account Finance Summary before client review meetings. Year-on-year trends give you a clear picture of how the relationship has developed financially.
Tip: The Contact Report with birthday month filtering is useful for client outreach — export the list to plan seasonal campaigns or birthday messages.
Tip: Run the Top Clients report to see your most valuable relationships ranked three different ways. A client with the most events isn't necessarily the most profitable.
Tip: Use the Supplier Report to review annual spending with individual suppliers — helpful when negotiating terms or reviewing vendor relationships.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does the Account Report only show accounts with contracted events? The report is designed to show active client accounts with confirmed business. Accounts that only have enquiries or quotes won't appear. Use the Contact Report if you need to see all contacts regardless of event status.
Q: Can I see account data across multiple years?Yes. The Account Finance Summary is specifically designed for multi-year comparison. Select the accounts you want and the report shows year-by-year figures in columns.
Q: How are "Top Clients" ranked? The report produces three independent rankings — by number of events, by total revenue, and by total profit. This lets you see which clients bring the most volume versus the most value.
Q: Can I filter contacts by when they were added?Yes. The Contact Report has a Created date filter that lets you find contacts added within a specific period.
Q: What's the difference between the Industry Type Report and the Account Industry Type Report? The Industry Type Report groups events by the industry type of their account — it's event-focused. The Account Industry Type Report groups accounts by their industry type — it's account-focused. Choose based on whether you want to analyse events or accounts.
